Medium is a platform for professional writers who want to write authentic content and earn money from their readership. The Medium was started in 2012, and since then, it has been a platform that offers some money to writers who monetize their stories.
I heard about Medium during COVID-19 because, at that time, everything was locked down, and I was searching for some ways to make money online. I started freelancing as a content writer, learned more skills like WordPress website design, and created my brand called NafeyWebSolutions.com. Working on my brand, NafeyWebSolutions, the Medium was stuck in my mind, and it could help me share my story with the world and earn some cents.
I started Medium in November 2020 and posted only one story that month. After this month, I posted two stories in December, and in January 2021, I posted two stories. I published four stories in February 2021 when I saw some cents coming in. As I was getting busy at my University during those days, I published only six stories in a group of six months, from June to September. In October 2021, I took Medium seriously and posted nine stories. Since October, I have posted eighteen stories. So, collectively, I have posted 42 stories on Medium.
So, by publishing 42 stories on Medium since November 2019, I have earned $57.75. I know this is not much money, but as you can see from my story posting history, I have not been regular. I have not posted stories on Medium regularly as I get busy every month, so I give Medium hours per month. Medium has the potential to earn you thousands of dollars, but for that, you have to be regular, consistent, and patient.
After watching this screenshot, I know you will say that this much money is very little, but You don’t know that I have yet to work writing stories on Medium. If I had been consistently writing on Medium, the amount in this screenshot could have been much more. I know many persons making 5000 plus Dollars per month from Medium.
Medium pays through Stripe, and this payment gateway is not available in Pakistan. I used Stripe via a typical Pakistani term, ‘Jugaar,’ and that Jugaar is not working now. If you live in Pakistan and can arrange a verified strike account, you can earn a lot from Medium. I used to withdraw the dollars from Stripe to my Payoneer account and then to the local banks.
How Medium Pays?
In the start, Medium used to pay via more claps. Claps are like social engagement, which people usually engage in with likes or comments on Facebook or Instagram posts, but now Medium is paying for the time the reader spends on your story. Medium is a paid platform. Four readers usually pay $5 a month or $50 to read stories. and the time that a reader spends on reading someone’s story the amount is then transferred to the writer’s account, and this amount is the one which the reader pays as a subscription fee to read medium stories.
My Stripe account is not working now, but upon contacting Stripe’s customer support, I learned that I may withdraw my earnings by October 2024. This is why I restarted riding stories on Medium to withdraw a good amount of money from Medium. Also, I can share my experience with the valuable leadership of medium.
